Kale, Red Russian

This kale variety has bright purple-pink stems with tender green leaves and a flavour that gets sweeter with cooler weather. Can be grown as baby kale for salad mixes or for full size bunches. 

21 days baby 50 days full size, approx. 500 seeds per 1.5g

 

Growing Information

For baby greens:  approx. 60 seeds/ft in rows spaced 2-3" apart

For bunching greens- direct seed or transplant plants 8-12" apart. If direct seeding sow 3-4 seeds in a group, then thin to the strongest plant

Kale is cold tolerant and can be sown starting early spring  (April/early May).
